Meet Liz, a sophomore in the ARISE Engineering Undeclared program, and a WIE Ambassador!
Q&A with Liz:
Why did you become a WIE Ambassador? “I want to help prospective students find their 'home away from home'! The adjustment to campus life can get lonely, so knowing what communities and resources you'll have access to as an incoming student is important to build a support system wherever you go.”
What is your favorite part about being a WIE Ambassador? “My favorite part is getting the chance to be a friend or mentor figure students can turn to for advice. It is rewarding and heartwarming, especially because I struggled with imposter syndrome as a first-generation Latina in STEM.”
What advice do you have for prospective students? “Explore everything! College is the best time to experiment and see what interests you. Don't be afraid to go outside of the norm, either. What you'll remember most from your college years will be the communities you've connected with and how they made you feel!”
