Campus and Community Involvement
Hannah is a member of the UIUC Women's Club Lacrosse team, the American Society of Agricultural & Biological Engineers (ASABE), and the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She also participates in undergraduate research and serves as an Engineering Learning Assistant (ELA) for ENG 100.
Being a Part of the WIE Community
WIE is a chance to meet new people across different majors. It sets you up with a community to call home before the school year begins. Hannah says, "My favorite thing about being part of the WIE community is the way that it acts as a bridge between women in all engineering disciplines before classes even begin. It provides the comfort and security of knowing that I have a large web of women, both Grainger students and staff, that are just as excited about the success of their peers." As a member of WIE, you always have someone to turn to. Women gain not only academic support but also lifelong friendships.
Being a WIE Orientation Mentor
As an orientation mentor, Hannah is excited to welcome newcomers to the university and watch them grow as college students. "I am looking forward to meeting the students who will become future leaders at Illinois and beyond! When I attended WIE orientation, I met so many women who became study buddies, roommates, sorority sisters, coworkers, and close friends. I hope that new students are able to use this program as an opportunity to get a head start on expanding their Illinois community," says Hannah. Through this program, she aims to help new students build a support system that will stay alongside them throughout their college years.
