“I am currently in medical school, a path that evolved from my initial aspiration to pursue engineering in the biomedical industry. During my time at UIUC, WIE was invaluable for bringing women engineering students together through various activities and fostering an accessible network. WIE connected me with mentors who guided me through my academic journey and introduced me to various opportunities. The support and encouragement I received were impactful, and as an upperclassman, I began mentoring underclassmen in WIE to give back to the community that helped set me up for success.

The WIE network provides strong support for women pursuing engineering. As a student, you will have many formal and informal opportunities to connect with others, both within WIE and the Grainger community. Remember to keep an open mind, share creative ideas, and engage with mentors and mentees.”
